Camera OP - Alfie Goodwin -

As the camera operator for this particular scene I was excited to film in an underwater environment as it was something that I hadn't ever experienced before. The method of shooting underwater differs from shooting on 'dry land' as in our case I was limited to what sort of camera I could use as there was only one camera, the Sony HVR-A1e that shot in 1080p that could also be taken underwater. This was made manageable with the use of a sealed underwater Ikelite A1e housing specifically designed for the camera.

The most challenging aspect of filming underwater was being able to coordinate yourself as you have to ensure the camera is rolling, whilst fighting to stop the camera from floating to the surface, as well as remembering to breathe.

However the camera did produce footage that was much clearer and more detailed that what was expected as the swimming pool that we shot in was quite murky and the underwater visibility was not ideal yet the shots that came through were great.
