Producer - Samuel Constable -

As producer on this shoot I spent a lot of time making sure that the team had plenty of behind the scenes pictures as well as videos to best showcase their skills and show off the work done as best as possible. This would help make the paperwork easier for everyone down the line. I was also on hand helping wherever I could from shot ideas to be there to help solve any problems the team would encounter as the shoot progressed. As well as generally ensure that everything would run smoothly and that everyone in the crew knew where to be and when and were all fully prepared.

This shoot for me, was really focusing on working with the camera operator Alfie and our actor Will. Me and Alfie worked together to get the shoots we needed, working on the placement of the camera to ensure we get the best quality shots possible.

i was really wanting to make sure we got every shot needed that was wrote in the shooting script. I broke down what we needed to make sure we used out time efficiently as we only had a couple hours on the beach.

Due to weather issues it did rain for awhile and then we had to wait for a huge cloud to pass so the sun would come back out which put the shoot on pause for about 20 minutes to wait and we also had an issue with other members of public. As the beach we were at was also a public beach there were quite a few people around so we had to make sure we avoided them or waited until they moved. This was annoying but we still managed to get every shot we needed despite all the issues we had.

Coming to the second shoot, we headed to a small beach near Mount Batten just on the outskirts of Plymouth that required a river taxi to get to. This time round my position was more along the lines of a runner; I was wherever my crew needed me the most as a pair of extra hands for any situation. For the setup of the scene while the others set up the camera and discussed shots with the actor, I gathered shells along the shore and with some help from David we put together a solid looking shrine which in the scene the mermaid will have miraculously created to house the shrine that the sailor character finds. After this, my time on set mainly consisted of working with the rest of the crew to finish with filming in any way I could. Whether that be helping with equipment, or giving my own personal view on how a certain shot should be taken. In no time at all, with some minor delays from the Mount Batten locals and some short bursts of rain, we were able get all the footage we needed in the mostly gorgeous sunny spells that we were treated with that morning, perfect for the mood we were going for!
